Dear Uncle Roy.... what a talent he had. I remember as a little girl how thrilled I was when he drew me a picture of Pluto in my autograph book! I treasured that drawing and used to show it off to my friends, proud that my uncle was an artist. And last year, it was a real pleasure to visit him and Auntie Maureen, with my Mum and brother Julian, and Uncle Roy went through all of his sketchbooks with us. His memories of where he had painted which picture was truly amazing; we all had a wonderful afternoon together. Lovely memories of a lovely man, Delia xxx

I have many fond memories of my dear Brother in Law Roy. We go back many years, he was in the same class as me at Luther Road Junior School. This was during the early part of the war, I can remember many times when the sirens went off and we had to make a dash for the air raid shelter which was situated on the playing field. We still had to do our lessons in the air raid shelter! There are far too many happy times to mention here, but I will treasure my memories of those times, farewell Roy, RIP, love from Doris x
